Meet Our Team

Designer & Founder, Tessa Battistin

Tessa was born in Montréal, and raised outside of NYC. She is passionate about female empowerment and entrepreneurship. Tessa gained business experience after working for three NYC based startups. While attending McGill University in Montréal, she helped organize the TEDxMontrealWomen annual conference in 2015, 2016, and 2017. Tessa completed a BA in English Literature & Art History in June 2017. Asset Designs has followed her throughout her studies. Tessa began silkscreen printing in 2012, and began selling tee shirts by word of mouth. Demand for Asset Designs products grew, and ethical production moved to the forefront of the brand's image. After competing in the Dobson Cup entrepreneurship competition, Tessa decided to launch Asset Designs full time in September 2017. Recently, Tessa was invited by the McGill Office of Innovation to join the 4th cohort of the McGill University & Notman House co-working partnership. Since, she has been living & working in Montréal, expanding the company’s offerings to reusable grocery bags and entirely made-in-Canada garments.
