This Pocket Poem is a collaboration between Maya Chivi and Tessa Battistin. Maya's words read: "and then a little voice whispered, you matter." This tee shirt is dedicated to mental health awareness.
Here, the tee shirt is modeled byKayley Reed. Kayley is a brand builder, influencer, podcaster, and founder of mental health advocacy brand, Wear Your Label.
Each tee is made from 100% organic cotton, spun, knit, sewn, dyed, on Canadian soil. Tessa prints this handwritten phrase onto the pocket of each tee shirt in her Mile End studio. These thoughtfully crafted tees are easy on our environment and kind to the people who've made them - from the organic cotton farmers in India to the cutting and sewing facilities in Canada.
Maya Chivi is an author, 2x-TEDx speaker, and advocate for mental health and gender equality. A survivor of Anorexia, Bulimia, depression, and suicide, Maya has inspired thousands of people around the world with her story of overcoming adversity and transformation. She was the first person in the Middle East to speak on live, international TV about LGBTQ children’s rights for unconditional love.
Maya is the author of What Nobody Knows, an illustrated book dedicated to the discussion of mental health and self-care. Maya delivers her keynote speech You Matter in schools across Canada. "And then a little voice whispered, you matter" serves as a positive reminder to those who wear it.
